Silent white

If color could be a sound, white would be silence.
Experiencing abundant snow as it is falling and gathering is so much more profound than any images or written/verbal descriptions.
And at the end of this colorless, soundless vacuum, hand-pulled noodle soup.

Charlie Allen Weekly Scan

I adore this man, Charlie Allen, who is my grandpa's age (88!). He was a commercial illustrator during Mad Men times. Every week from 2008-09 he, with the help of a friend, scanned and posted work from his "portfolio" while providing a bit of historical narrative and perspective.

So, so sweet. December 9, 2009 was his last post after putting up about 2/3 of the work from his career. via Design Observer: Observed
